IKEA Tiny Homes! The IKEA® Tiny Home Project
IKEA® Tiny homes! Tiny homes are not a brand new trend. First you think of lofts where you can’t stand up. Then, where do you store all your clothes? But there is some big news in the world of these mini houses! ESCAPE Homes and IKEA® have partnered to design and build a tiny home! Yes, the master tiny home builder and your favorite do-it-yourself Scandinavian brand. It’s all part of the The IKEA® Tiny Home Project.

ESCAPE has been building these homes for 25 years. Their homes feature “full kitchens, large bathrooms, large first floor bedrooms” just to name a few. The company already makes the Vista Boho XL. So IKEA® asked them to customize the model to their specifications.

“It was a natural pairing,” says ESCAPE Homes founder, Dan Dobrowolski. “We feature many IKEA® products in our various tiny home designs around the country, as they mirror the renewable, reusable and recycled materials we incorporate into the actual structures.”
ESCAPE Homes Press Release January 2021

They are 187 square-feet, sustainable and on wheels. The exteriors feature Shou Sugi Ban. It’s the Japanese technique of charred siding. This is all on top of ESCAPE’s custom trailer for easy transport. The interior features ESCAPE’s signature sustainably grown pine and
Low-E, thermopane windows and energy-efficient lighting.

This collaboration is really the best of both worlds. Can’t wait to tour one in person!

Interesting concept, but I think, too tiny for me.
However, thanks for the tour.
Definitely Rose. I’m not sure. I would love to see the size in person.
