The Ultimate San Antonio Weekend Itinerary
Use this Ultimate San Antonio Weekend Itinerary as your guide. Traveling to San Antonio soon? Keep reading for my 3 day itinerary.
Day One: Relaxing Stroll Through Downtown San Antonio
Sample the sights and sounds of Downtown San Antonio. Take in the beauty of the historic architecture. More on the architecture found in my San Antonio Architecture post.
All the history buffs can visit The Alamo and retrace Davy Crockett’s steps. Be sure to show up early, as it can get very crowded.
For lunch try Jack in the box. I’m not a big fast food eater, but they are a chain that is not found everywhere in the States so I wanted to try them again. (I’d tried them years ago on a trip to Canada.) Very good for fast food.
To be a true Texan you need cowboy boots. Head over to Boot Barn and try on a pair or two, or three. Top it off with a cowboy hat.
Day Two: Explore the famous San Antonio River Walk
Take a stroll through the Brackenbridge Park. I wish I had known that the park includes a Japanese Tea Garden, Sunken Garden Theater, the San Antonio Zoo, as well as Lambert Beach. Their website includes even more attractions included in the park.
Stop for lunch and drinks at Mexican Manhattan. It overlooks the River Walk and has the best frozen margaritas as you may have seen in my Food Tour post.
Have dinner at The Republic of Texas and sing your heart out during karaoke.
Day 3: Visit other historical sites besides the Alamo
There are so many places to visit in San Antonio that I didn’t even get to see everything. I suggest seeing the Mission San Jose, which is a beautiful Mission. Trip Advisor provides some really nice images. Tell me how it was.
SeaWorld is another big draw to San Antonio. If you are looking to cool off from the 100 degree weather, SeaWorld is your best option.
Enjoy lunch at Laguna Madre. They have really great seafood as well as iced tea that is the perfect amount of sweet. Their hush puppies are great too!
Dance until you drop at Cowboys Dancehall. It’s a great dance hall with a large dance floor. Learn how to line dance and do the Texas Two- Step. And you can’t forget about the mechanical bull. I had a blast trying to stay on.
