Strolling through Twin Brooks Park in Connecticut

Come with me to Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull, Connecticut. September is still warm. Take advantage!

The park is located in Trumbull, Connecticut near the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) and Route 25. It’s steps away from Trumbull Center. Parking passes are required year-round. If you are not local and don’t have a parking pass, there are side streets you can park on.

Twin Brooks Park Amenities

Amenities include a natural swimming area, hiking trails, fields and a children’s play area. A unique feature is the covered bridge. You go through it as you enter and exit the park.

It’s a nice park with flat hiking trails. The area is well maintained. They offer different activities depending on the season. During wintertime there’s a sledding area. Enjoy movies in the park during warmer months. The park is also stocked with trout. I noticed two boys fishing while I was there.

There are a lot of Canadian Geese if you like wildlife. Unfortunately this means you have to really watch where you’re walking. There were geese droppings both in the grass and on the trails. I read reviews that people have seen coyotes. I was fortunate enough not to see any on my trip.

This is a great family-friendly park that is well maintained and easy to get to. It’s great even if you don’t have a family. I enjoyed just walking the trail and sitting by the pond.
