My first pick is strolling down to the Abu Dhabi Emirates Palace Marina. It’s a beautiful little oasis in the desert. Near the Marina is the Abu Dhabi Heritage Village.
In the Heritage Village you are able to watch local artisans create items like rugs, and leather goods. It’s your window into Middle Eastern culture.
Another look into Middle Eastern culture is the Sheikh Zayed Exhibition. Sheikh Zayed is considered by many as the Founding Father or the U.A.E. and 2018 is actually considered by local Emiratis as the “Year of Zayed.” You’ll see some of his last possessions including his cars and trophies. Lots of pictures are included and give you a glimpse into his life. Sheikh Zayed is actually buried on the premises of the next location.
The Sheikh Zayed Mosque is considered one of the most beautiful mosques in the world. It is featured in my Abu Dhabi Architecture post. White marble and gold surround you as you enter. The reflection pool was so beautiful and I was so hot that I just wanted to jump right in (women must be covered from head to toe to enter). What I need was cooling down at my next location.
While I did not actually enter the park (it was not included in my tour), I got a sneak peek inside Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. There is a roller coaster that allows you to feel as if you’re flying into the Arabian sky. If you decide to go, don’t forget to take pictures of the Ferrari World building, which is really stunning.
Thanks for stopping by.
