5 Ways to Beat the Heat with Indoor Activities in Connecticut
We all need to find indoor activities in Connecticut. It’s so hot here right now. I did another post about what to do when you’re traveling, and it rains. Today’s post is for when it’s so hot you can’t stay outside for long.
Museums
Let’s start with museums. Connecticut has some great museums. Many of these are located inside colleges. There is the Yale Art Museum in New Haven. There is also the Wadsworth Museum of Art in Hartford.
Check out this post for more details on the Yale Art Museum. I also discuss a few other art museums located in colleges and universities in Connecticut.

Escape Rooms
Escape rooms are a great indoor activity in Connecticut. Solve puzzles and escape rooms shrouded in mystery. I’ve been to many different escape rooms, both locally and in other countries.
Escapology in Trumbull is my favorite local choice. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been there.

Movie Theaters
Movie theaters are one of the oldest indoor activities in Connecticut for when it’s hot out. Now is the best time to check out summer blockbusters.
Many theaters offer stadium seating with reclining chairs. They also have a wide selection of food to eat during your movie.
Aquariums
Visiting an aquarium is a great way to cool off and explore sea creatures. The one I recommend locally is the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.
Address: 10 N Water St, Norwalk, CT 06854

Indoor Gaming Centers
My fifth and final indoor activity in Connecticut is indoor gaming centers. These allow you to enjoy various games and challenges while escaping the heat. I recommend Jordan’s located in New Haven.
Another great option is Urban Air, located in Orange. Both have areas for children and adults. Jordan’s biggest feature is their zipline course. And Urban Air has an adult-sized go kart track.
Jordan’s
Address: 40 Sargent Dr, New Haven, CT 06511

Urban Air

If you have visited any of these, or plan to, let me know in the comments.

Cool ideas, Kelcy …
Personally after a nice early morning…offering Good News in our downtown square…I head to the local Vintage Thrift Shop…they are always getting new items in from many of the local and surrounding counties estate sales…this as a fun way to beat the heat in this neck of the woods…
Thanks again for an interesting post.
Thrift shops are a great place as well. I’m glad you enjoyed the post.
Adult go-carting looks like fun.
It really is.
