How to Support Brands Selling Items Made by Artisans
Way back in 2022 I shared a post highlighting items made by artisans worldwide. I have since updated the list. However, the post contains a lot of items that I was interested in but had not used personally.

Today I’m sharing a few brands that support artisans worldwide. I can personally confirm that they are good quality and items that I personally use. Most were purchased with my own money. Those that were gifted are marked with an asterisk (*). All opinions are my own.
Bohcreation
Bohcreation is an India-based brand that I came across on Etsy. All the items are handmade using block printing on 100% cotton. You can check back every week and you’re sure to find new items. They’re always designing new dresses and other items such as bags.

I own a couple of their dresses, and they always make me feel so beautiful when I wear them. Both dresses also have pockets. You can’t go wrong with pockets.

Paper Papayas
This brand is U.S.-based but Caribbean-inspired. The owner is an artisan who creates beautiful jewelry using polymer clay. Her pieces are nothing short of works of art.

The pair of earrings I own are sculpted to look like orchid flowers. However, they’re gold tone, making them even more unique. I can’t wait to wear them with my summer dresses.

Ukili *
Ukili is based in the U.S. However, the items at Ukili are handmade by artisans in Tanzania. They sell home items as well as fashion items.

I own their Shukurani tote. Straw and woven bags are really popular right now. Straw bags are not reserved for picnic baskets. My bag can double as a picnic basket. However, it’s just a great regular tote for when you’re out and about. It’s made of grasses from Tanzania and has leather hardware. Check out my Instagram reel where I do an unboxing.

Lidsan Craftworks
Lindsan Craftworks is based on the island of Malta. The owner sources beautiful handmade items from Kenya. They constantly have new items available. Think lots of clothing items as well as jewelry.

I love the black and white top I bought when I was in Malta. It’s high-quality thick cotton. My mom also purchased a dress from the same shop.

Eemli*
Eemli is another small business that is based in India. They sell handmade towels and other similar items. All are handmade by artisans using traditional loom techniques.

I own the Clean Sweep towel as well as a few of their napkins. Their napkins came in handy so much during my recent trip to Asia. Many public restrooms in Japan don’t have paper towels or hand dryers. I kept seeing Japanese women drying their hands with the prettiest small napkins and handkerchiefs. My small napkins helped me live like a local.

Pajamasutra
This brand sells block printed robes made by artisans in India. Besides just robes, they offer kaftans and rompers. All of these can be used to make build-your-own gift boxes (many times for bridesmaid gift boxes) on their website. They also sell other handmade and small batch items for their gift boxes such as tea.

I love my Lalita kaftan. It’s great for traveling because of how lightweight it is. I love lounging around in it. You have seen it in some of my travel photos for sure.

Saffron Marigold
Saffron Marigold is U.S.-based and makes home items created in India. Think tablecloths, curtains and napkins. Similar to the items at Boh Creation and Pajamasutra, many wood blocks were used to painstakingly hand print the ink onto the fabric.

I own one of their table runners and matching napkins. The set is called Spice Route and blends Indian and Middle Eastern designs. I enjoy throwing backyard dinner parties. Have you seen my post about hosting a travel themed dinner party? Definitely check it out.

Fuyougama Ceramiya
This brand is run by ceramic artist Fuyumi Fujiwara and is based in Japan. I stumbled upon her work at the Kyoto Ceramic Art Association Gallery in Japan. (The gallery allows you to support local artists.) She creates ceramic pottery (Ceramic cup below is not from the artist.) and jewelry.

I own a beautiful pair of ceramic earrings in the shape of small birds.

It’s so important to keep ancient art and traditions alive. One way to do that is to support brands that are trying to preserve them.

Another nice post… I love the dress in your first picture and cotton… what a wonderful fabric, breathable and fashionable too…!
And the jewelry and table dressings … definitely a plus.
Thanks again, Kelcy. Keep up the good blogging work…!!
