Interior Design Inspiration: Kitchens

Kitchens are the heart of the home for good reason. They bring everyone together and give a house life. That’s why designing a kitchen you love is so important. And this doesn’t mean gutting your whole kitchen and starting over.

Kitchen Seating

Add kitchen chairs that really make a statement. If you have a bar, use stools that are unique and not like others you have seen before.

Interesting Light Fixtures

Lighting, especially in the kitchen, really brings warmth to a space. There are so many options when it comes to the style and material.

Hanging lights are very popular at the moment. Glass bulbs really allow the full light to shine through.

Backsplash

Backsplash adds such a special touch to a kitchen. It’s adds texture and interest to an overlooked area. Subway tile is very popular.

I’m a fan of bright colors almost everywhere. I prefer neutral a backsplash, though.

The Floor

Another overlooked area is the kitchen floor. Tile is a popular option. If you read my post about my favorite Interior Design Trends, you’d know how much I love industrial design.

There is nothing like a floor that looks worn and used. It takes on its own unique character and brings so much contrast to an otherwise modern kitchen (above).

Many of the items I mentioned don’t require a whole kitchen re-do. Which ones are you going to incorporate into your kitchen?
